135 Years

I was diligently studying my Japanese at my desk in the staffroom of my junior high, when my vice principal came up to me and asked if I would like to join him and watch the brass band perform for the neighboring elementary school. "Of course I would Vice Principal!" Ans as this particular elementary school happens to be a favorite, I was more than happy to receive an excuse to break from the tedious act of studying. Much to my surprise it was not just any mere performance for the elementary school. No, no. It was a mini-concert to honor the 135th anniversary of the school's existence!!! I know right?! 135 years old! Crazy! But it's not as crazy as all the kids, 1st-6th, singing the Japanized version of Happy Birthday (a.k.a Happy Batsudei) to a big cardboard cake. And when I say crazy, I mean crazy CUTE!

(If you couldn't catch the middle part they are singing, "Happy Birthday Itahashi Shougako" )
