Girls just wanna have fun....

...drag queens too!

After a 12 hour and 45 minute flight from LAX to Seoul Icheon airport and another 2 hours from Korea to Osaka Kansai airport I was nice and jet-lagged and...

ready to hit up the clubs with my friends to bring in 2008! YESSSSSSSSSSSSS.

Thank goodness that Japan airports (Well, actually, most of the foreign airports I have been to...A.K.A NOT LAX) have taken it upon themselves to create an efficient and dummy proof arrival system, something that “Airports for Dummies” (if there was such a book) would be proud of. With the “dummy-proof” organization as my guide I walked right off the plane in Osaka into a pretty much empty terminal, breezed through customs (and that is with the new Japanese policy of finger printing foreigners!), collected my “small” pieces of luggage, exchanged my money, arranged for my “small” pieces of luggage to be dropped off at my apartment the next day, and exchanged my money all within 1 hour of arriving! Actually, I think it took longer to get from the airport to the hotel my friends and I were staying at in Osaka City. Odd.

Annnnnnyways, can we please change the topic to celebrating New Years with watching 2 drag shows and dancing till 4am in a gay club in Osaka? OK! I mean, since you asked and all.

By the time we all got settled into our luxurious suite (I wish!) and got all prettied up it was time for the 2008 countdown. Thank god for Alisa bringing the champagne and the hotel for supplying us with the most classy of coffee mugs for our midnight cheers! After our few minutes of undeniable elegance we headed off into the 39 degree weather to find us some good dancin’! About 3 clubs later we found “Jack in the Box”. No, not the fast food, grease infested dining establishment, but the oh-so-fabulous gay club we spent the rest of our night/early morning in! Take a peek at what we had in store for us our first day in 2008.

There are really no words to describe the following performance aside from WHY?!!!!

video
(It is not shown in the video, BUT this smooth dancer of a drag queen proceeded to dance off beat,
twirl her umbrella, throw her umbrella, and DROP her umbrella!
All in one performance…hahahaha it was the highlight of my night.)

And with that...HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!
