Anyways let me begin our tales of Beach, Drag night...
It all begins with my good friend Lisa coming to Kyoto for a visit. Thankfully her timing was perfect with Metro's (one of the few clubs in Kyoto, and probably the best one) monthly drag night. Prior the the announcement of the theme of drag night we had decided to don GOLD. And to our pleasant surprise the theme was "beach" so we felt we could just make it a little Miami Beach fabulous or rather explain ourselves as such...
Ingram and Alisa, sporting the flotation devices.
Our fashionably late friend Chris, glad he made it!
The most unattractive drag queen there just HAD to dance to the Beach Boys, "California Girls"...why, why why?! Please, more respect to California next time honey!
Lisa and I with our new friend "Naoki Campbell" hahahaha. 'DON DAKE!'(A current, popular Japanese phrase which apparently comes from a transvestite named Ikko, who also happens to be a make-up artist. Please correct me if I am wrong, but I don't think that the phrase has any particular meaning other than when used as a retort to when someone does something that is strange or
when something doesn't make sense.)
In the end the music was "aiite" but what made the night was the great people that we were with, OBVIOUSLY! I look forward to the next drag night, the theme has been set as 50's/pin-up. Alright all you wanna-be Betty Grables, Veronica Lakes, greasers, and poodle skirt wearing ladies and gentlemen get ready! That being said keep your eyes open for some interesting pictures from pur next adventure at Club Metro!
**Sadly, Ted's gold shorts will not be making an appearance in the next drag event, but knowing him they will be out sooner rather than later! *wink*wink**
