She is actually Japanese...

So, last weekend my friend Maya (we met in Tokyo for the JET orientation and also went to Bali together with Lisa and Jun) came for a quick visit, I am so glad her work sent her down to Kyoto for a conference. I must preface this post with a simple fact, Maya is actually Japanese. That's right folks. She is not the blond hair, blue eyed girl from Minnesota, no no. She is the completely fluent, born in Hokkaido, Japan, more Japanese than Traci will ever be, awesome Maya. Yes, that's right. And now I will tell you about our Kyoto reunion!

Well, her timing was perfect for yet another DRAG NIGHT! Apparently we like to take our out of town guests to this...(uh hem, Lisa Molly Mallin). The them was 50's pin up girl and we tried our best to dress within the theme.

(group shot!)

Of course, a drag night would not be complete without meeting "Naoki Campbell"!

After our drag night extravaganza Maya and I took a stroll through the beautiful Kyoto. We were lucky that it was actually nice weather...finally! As we were a bit tired we took it a bit easy on Saturday and just had a nice evening with our fabulous boys.

The bar tender at the "Mushroom Bar". I am not kidding, he actually looks like this!!!

Lovely Maya and cute, cute Chris.

"Oh my God, Oh my God you guuuuuuys!!"

On Maya's last day we decided to go visit Fushimi Inari and get our exercise for the weekend by climbing ALL the stairs of the beautiful shrine. I love when I go out with Maya because EVERYONE starts talking to me immediately but then all of the sudden just as I am getting my "I really have no idea what you are saying to me." face on Maya jumps in with her perfect Japanese and freaks them out! hahaha. What can I say, it's the little things in life. To sum things up, it was so wonderful to see Maya and we had a BOMB (wink, wink) weekend.
