SYTYCD

What is "SYTYCD"? Well for those who are not familiar with the best dance show on American TV allow me to now inform you about the show, "So You Think You Can Dance". It is a weekly dance reality TV show and competition, but NOTHING like "Dancing With the Stars" or "American Idol", though it does have a similar premise to "American Idol" in which the audience votes for the dancers they would like to proceed into the finals. This show is complied of the 20 best dancers ranging from unknown street dancers to national dance champions (and this year the talent is FIERCE!!!), 10 girls and 10 guys. They are then put into pairs and are asked to randomly pick a dance genre (ballroom, hip hop, jazz, contemporary, broadway, etc.) which, as a couple, they must perform. I am addicted and always left amazed at what these dancers can do. They get to work talented choreographers such as Mia Michaels(contemporary) and Tyce Diorio (broadway) and perform with such passion that it is very hard for me not to watch certain pieces over and over again. In fact, some performances are so moving that, actually this is embarrassing to admit, but, sometimes I am left in tears because I am so touched by the piece. I know, I know, I am quite lame. But, dance is such a beautiful art form and expression of life so I just thought I would share with you some of my favorite pieces from the show so far.
